ARB rose 0.9% to $0.16239, supported by Offchain Labs partnering with Cross River Bank to integrate tokenized lending rails onto Arbitrum One.1 This institutional adoption pairs with strong network metrics, including leading weekly net bridge inflows of $195 million and expanding decentralized finance activity.2
Arbitrum (ARB) is the governance token of the Arbitrum network, a Layer 2 scaling solution built on Ethereum that uses optimistic rollup technology to increase transaction throughput while maintaining security through Ethereum's base layer. ARB was introduced in March 2023 as part of Arbitrum's transition toward decentralized governance, allowing token holders to participate in protocol decisions, parameter adjustments, and treasury management through the Arbitrum DAO. The token has a maximum supply of 10 billion ARB, with a significant portion allocated to early users, developers, and the Arbitrum treasury to incentivize ecosystem growth. Beyond governance, ARB can be staked to earn rewards and serves as the primary means for the community to guide the development of Arbitrum's One and Nova chains. The Arbitrum network has become one of the most widely adopted Layer 2 solutions, supporting numerous decentralized applications, trading venues, and liquidity protocols, making ARB notable as a governance mechanism for one of Ethereum's most successful scaling ecosystems.
